The Major Projects Conference 2010, hosted by the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, will take place on 19 October 2010 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Australia. Industry Focus Construction, Real Estate, Energy, Water, Roads, Rail, Mining, Environment , Project Managers, Transportation, Tourism Products and Services Focus This year's conference program will focus on Queensland's planned , committed and current projects , and highlight how these major projects support the state's continued economic , sustainable and social development. It may also address issues affecting project delivery such as: sustainability in infrastructure , best practice in delivering infrastructure projects , financing major projects: PPPs and other delivery models , infrastructure for Queensland's growing population , and planning for a sustainable Queensland future. Summary The Major Projects Conference has built upon its reputation and is seen as the established and respected industry event which showcases Queensland’s current and future major projects. General Information The Major Projects Conference 2010 will be hosted by the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, Queensland Government. In keeping with the Queensland Government’s vision for Queensland through Toward Q2: Tomorrow’s Queensland, the Major Projects Conference 2010 will reflect the five ambitions of strong, green, smart, healthy and fair throughout this one-day, annual event. As Queensland’s population continues to grow, we must maintain sustainable economic and social development and deliver essential infrastructure. The challenge is to stimulate and streamline projects which support job creation—including land development and infrastructure delivery, and planning and preparing adequate supplies of industrial land—while applying the principles of sustainable development. This year’s conference program will focus on Queensland’s planned, committed and current projects, and highlight how these major projects support the state’s continued economic, sustainable and social development.
